Open Roads Fest, Idaho July 15th-18th

Just sharing an upcoming "Van Life" gathering with forum members. My wife and I attended this event back in 2019 and had a great time. It's a rather laid back gathering of van/travel enthusiasts centered around a few days of presentations, socializing and limited outdoor activities. When we attended, the rigs were an eclectic mix of all types and builds imaginable, from home built VWs to high end Sprinters. At the time, our Sportsmobile E350 was a one-off with just a couple of other 4x4 E350s.

The price is a bit steep at approximately $200 for a vehicle and one occupant or $250 for a couple. For anyone interested, the event is in McCall Idaho and happens to be surrounded by some outstanding opportunities to explore either before or after the event. I think we'll be signing up for our early bird tickets soon.

No affiliation with the event or sponsors.

Thanks for sharing, Steve. Looks like a nice crowd. We are definitely thinking about registering.

Am I reading this right? They want each person to buy a ticket for $150-$200?

Hey Mike, that does look like this years cost. Sorry I missed the increased $$$ of the second person since the last time the event was held.

Sooo it's now approximately $350 for a couple instead of the $250 I thought...

When I step back and think about it, that $100 is inconsequential, but it pushes the event into the zone of “too expensive” in my mind. Being this cheap is a real curse. Plus right now with Putin being an @$$hole it feels like my retirement accounts will never recover!
I just looked back at my receipt for NW Overland Rally 2020 (cancelled and refunded due to Rona), and everybody was in the gate for less than $200. I’ll chat with my better half some more. She’s kind of on the fence.
