Class/Seminar coverage now live on Expoloring Elements

http://www.exploringelements.com/event- ... sseminars/

Check out the pics and some of the valuable info that I gained from the Expo. Such a good place to learn from the best in the business.

-Brent: Love the camp photo, can't wait to see more! I thought I got a shot of every van at the expo, but somehow missed taking a shot of yours! Full van post about the expo coming Sunday.

Re: Overland Expo

"Only real gripe about the entire Expo is that no attendance was taken at any class, especially annoying after the very lengthy registration process. For classes that where for people who paid for the Overland Experience package only, there should have been some way of checking who was in attendance. I’m sure that many day pass holders attended many of these classes for free."

Thanks for all of your great pictures and information. Before the Expo I wondered about what you have said in the statement above. Had I gone to the Expo I would have only paid the day rate, assuming I couldn't take any classes. But, had I then realized I could sneak into classes free, I probably would have done so. You are right. This is not fair to those who pay the full price.

Re: Overland Expo

Thanks Kayaker!

I did not take many images this trip. Took the weekend off for the most part from the camera but will post a few more soon.

I agree with Mac about the process. We paid for the full package and I saw day passers in some of our classes. It was not cheap as you know for the whole package. We did not get what we paid for in that area.

I had a great time overall but was disappointed with the lack of organization with some of the classes. Half our classes the instructor was late. Some were stand-in's for others who were MIA and a few it did not seem they knew the material they were teaching. There were a few really good classes and instructors but by the end of the first day I wondered what the next class was going to be like. Some class areas were double booked so we took them where ever there was space. Not good as some would have been good to take on the obstacle course instead of flatlands etc.

I thought I may have been too critical or alone in my thoughts but one of the last classes we took there were a lot of people talking about the same subject when we showed up.

I will be back as overall it was a great experince but probably won't book the Experience Package next year.

Re: Overland Expo

Day Passers Rule!

No I didn't sneak into any of the classes. Seems too much like learning to fish inside a Bass Pro Shop to me.

FWIW, I had my orange day pass wrist band on, but I was wearing a long sleeve shirt, so you couldn't even see it. That said, I wasn't able to park until they verified that I had paid for the day, and that's when they issued me my wrist band.

Lucky for me things were kind of loose. I bought an OzTent when I was there, and it comes in a large, somewhat heavy, cumbersome box. When I was getting ready to leave, I walked back to my truck and drove right into the vendor area to pick up the tent and put it right into my vehicle.
