Re: Overland Expo

It's during the solar eclipse. I wonder if that's part of the ticket.

Re: Overland Expo

I want to go but can't commit yet. That area around Flagstaff is nice -- lots of forest service roads and good spots to camp.

Re: Overland Expo

I would love to go, but I'm trying to figure out how to fund it. It's on my calendar. We shall see!

Re: Overland Expo

Myself, my wife, and our two year old daughter are now in. We have never traveled around the desert SW before, so this will all be new ground for us. Coming from WA, through OR, ID, UT. Not sure of the return route yet. Could really use some trip advice... which I will request in a separate dedicated thread.

Cheers,
TWOLOST + 1

Re: Overland Expo

We are leaving Seattle on Mar. 1 for a play-by-ear trip that will take us to San Diego along the coast, the SW deserts and might include some Gulf Coast. It should be easy to make some kind of loop and get through Flagstaff for OE on the way back home. We went last year for the first time and had a great time. Learned a lot. Got our 4x2 on the course, did o.k. but dragged the rear. Now have more lift---want to see how far we get this time. There was plenty good country music at night, but hardly anyone danced! Now worry that RV'ers are far too serious military types! If we make OE, it will definitely be our longest trip yet. Look for us!

If our travels take us close by anyone we've met on the forum, let us know. We are interested in hunting down 4x4's that are willing to let us tag along and practice winching us out of trouble . . .

Will be in San Diego Mar. 12-16 looking for things to do while my partner-in-crime flies to Cabo for a wedding.
