Re: Overland Expo Ashville, NC Oct 2-4th

Thanks for the invite to the UJ get together! Will plan on stopping by. Is there something we can bring to augment the spread? Hate to show up empty handed. Looking forward to getting down there.

Re: Overland Expo Ashville, NC Oct 2-4th

We are planning to come down to the Expo. We are really looking forward to it since it will be our first! Our schedule doesn't allow for us to travel down until Friday afternoon. With our drive, that means we won't be getting down there until later on Friday evening. I noticed on the Expo page that they close the gates for entry at 7pm. If that is the case, that means we won't be able to get in until Saturday morning. We are looking forward to meeting everyone that can come and visiting with the vendors as well.

Yea 7pm is no good! If you need to boondock close by you're welcome to my parking lot. 3 miles up the road.

Pssst......A little secret for you. Not sure if they man the gate at the road with armed guards, etc. but last year it was pretty laid back. There is a grassy field used for parking between the road and the split rail fence right where Ujoint's HQ is. I think it would be pretty easy to park in the field that first night, or at least walk up and visit. As I recall, half of the party was on one side of the fence and half on the other, though I don't recall much.

Thats up to you! Certainly don't have to bring anything but we won't turn you away if you do..... I plan to have a bucket of candy for the kids but it usually gets abused by the big ones.

Mixing vans & candy is generally frowned upon...

Thanks Chris for the offer to boondock in your parking lot for Friday night. We may take you up on that offer depending on what time we arrive in NC. If so, we won't be hard to miss with our big red van.
