Re: Overland Expo in Flagstaff May 15-17

Even though the weather was CRAP Friday & Sat, we had a good time. Glad I brought plenty of fuel for my heater!

Wish I was there. I always wanted to avoid the heat. NOT I guess.

Yep, raining here at Little Creek Mesa. Maybe you are across the street at Gooseberry?

Not sure where that is?

Anyhow, I bet the road to Goose is pretty greasy; one reason we went to L. Creek instead. And we have the place all to ourselves. Storm should be out of here tomorrow. Fingers crossed, but the southwest or any of the west for that matter certainly needs the precip.

Went to White Pocket last night. That place is awesome.

Yes that road to the Mesa is a slick mess when it rains. I had to get pulled out once in my Tacoma and had mud on the roof of the van during redbull rampage a couple years ago. It's better to camp and wait because it dries fast.

Re: Overland Expo in Flagstaff May 15-17

The road to L. Creek is much better but longer. And the camping doesn't turn to a lake-bottom quagmire.

Rain is also quite good for the approach to White Pocket. Even drove the tougher way in.

Hopefully the new stuff by JEM will be dry tomorrow. I'd like to check out Goosebumps and Dead Ringer.

Dead Ringer is a riot. Picture a non-stop pump track for 20mins...
