That's the plan, around the first week of May before continuing to Flag. It would be great to see you there.

Don
I could be talked into some fun trails in the Zuni Mountains. Suspect it's all dry by now.

With three very young kids, I'm guessing Chris is lucky to find time eat and sleep.

Re: Overland Expo in Flagstaff May 15-17

I don't get to ride like I used to. I often dream of the old days when I all I did was work, ride my bike & clean my van!

Most of my time riding now looks like this

Please do! I'll have V4 with the Sherpa in the booth and one other van. Several other UJ rigs will be there so be on the lookout.

We're also doing a meet & greet in the Denver area on 5-24. I'll start a thread on it as soon as I have a location and more details.

Re: Overland Expo in Flagstaff May 15-17

For those bringing bikes here's some beta. There's not much riding near the Expo. You can, however, access the AZ trail via FS419 or simply pedal up the Mormon Lake Rd and ride back on the AZ trail and back down to the venue on 419.

Otherwise, the riding is in Flag proper. The closest stuff would be the Town Loop Trail and AZ trail via Skunk or Walnut Canyons. A loop out to Fisher Point is a Flag classic. ~20 min drive.

Further still is Dry Lake Hills-Mt. Elden-SF Peaks. The main TH is at the Y of Schultz Pass Rd and Elden Lookout Rd. ~30-45 min drive depending on how quick you can get through town. The backway on JW Powell Blvd and Lone Tree is always fastest.

Sedona is an hour. There's great riding right from Village of Oak Creek or if you want to head down the switchbacks on 89 Hangover and West Sedona/Dry Creek Area are your best bets.

Maps:
http://www.arcgis.com/apps/OnePane/basi ... 10a6676abc
http://www.trailforks.com/region/sedona ... &m=terrain

If your coming in from the east on I40 I highly recommend the High Desert Mesa Trail System in Gallup. It's literally 5 min from the hwy and is worthy. http://www.galluptrails.com/gallup-area-trail-info

I'll probably only make it out to the venue for half a day on Sat or Sun but I'm always up for a ride if anyone wants company. A group ride in Flag or Sedona would be fun. If anyone wanted to shuttle out to FS418 and ride the AZ trail back to Flag that's about as fine a stretch of singletrack in the state. That's 18 miles with 2500' of elevation loss with about 1000' of climbing through meadows and aspens and fir-ponderosa forest. Otherwise, there are any number of fun loops from the Y. http://www.mapquest.com/#a74ba0d37dba3164dd9ed0f4

We'll spend a few days in the Zuni Mtns, part of the greater Gallup scene. Not sure how extensive the riding will be as I'm recovering from an upper respiratory bug but drop by if anyone is in the neighborhood. Tale the Ft. Wingate exit south from I-40 past the Quaking Aspen campground to FR191. Head east about two miles. You'll pass under a power line followed by a dirt road to the right (north). Shortly past that turn you'll find a left hand road that's not on the map. We'll probably be camped 1/4 mile back up road. If not, we'll be between the power line and that road. Area provides great access to the Zuni Trails network.

We're be there this weekend through the 6th-8th.
