Re: Overland Expo Roll Call

hmmmm...tough call.

Went last year because I was buying an OZ Tent and arranged for a good deal with me picking it up there. Lots of great stuff to look at, but don't need (can't afford...) anything else right now. Always great to look, but I don't know if it's worth a dedicated trip for me, especially if I'm not really interested in any of the classes.

Love northern AZ, and had a great time, but don't really enjoy camping with hundreds of other people.

Decisions, decisions...

Are you trying to convince yourself not to go? Because I would have never gotten that from reading your post.

I'm really up in the air about this. It would be great meeting more people from this forum, but the hundreds of people camping in the open field kind of puts me off. I also have my annual summer trip with my son in June, so taking a 1000 mile trip the month before is something else for me to weigh in the decision.

Sounds like SMBers camp together at these. Just shut out the world with a chain of vans as a perimeter.

Herb

You could bring your son to meet and greet at Jackson WY in June. That way you can travel with your son and meet the SMB community.

Not a bad idea, but I already have most of my plans set.

Digging for trilobites (again).
Thanksgiving Point museum in Lehi, UT
Digging for ammonites
Bryce Canyon (including a horseback trip)

If it happens again next year, maybe I could tie it in with another trip to dig fish fossils in Wyoming, provided my son is still interested in fossils at that time.

Personally I don't either. I'm planning on spending Friday at the zoo and then heading out on Saturday and spending the next few days in the Coconino forest/Sedona area.
