Overland Rally: Ellensburg, Washington

On July 27-30 in Ellensburg, Washington Overland Journal will be hosting an overland rally. (Link below)

http://www.overlandrally.com/Overland_R ... hwest.html

Come by and say hello to Alan and Liz and take some time to check out their Sportsmobile and some of the other Sportsmobiles that will be attending the rally.

If you see some SMBs on the way to the San Juan Islands just before the rally make sure to give a wave

-Jonny

I hope it sucked!! Wanted to come up for it, but the kids' Jr Ride School got top billing this past weekend. Hoping Overland Journal didn't share the answer to the ultimate question in my absence.

I assume one of you were the SMB (sand colored 08+ EB with lights all around the PH roof rack?) I waved at on I-90 as I was heading back from the Table Mountain Star Party (www.tmspa.com) above Ellensburg!

Re: Overland Rally: Ellensburg, Washington

Yeah, it totally sucked the mop. No one learned a thing or had any fun. Really. The answer was revealed, but it was by the folks from Overland Gourmet, Wasabi Ginger Mayo.

Honestly, it was great. It was a mini meet and greet for the northwest Sportsmobilers. I got to meet Alan and Liz from SMB West and Dave from Aluminess. The rally itself was well done. Scott Brady from the journal did an advanced 4x4 class that was fun. I've recently become a fan of Master-Pull products. I learned a lot from their people. Jason -- PR here on the forum -- did a really good travel safety class.

The only bad part was the long list of mods for our van that I came away with.

There was an article in a local paper, The Daily Record.

edited for poor spelling, the link to the article, and to give credit where it's due

Re: Overland Rally: Ellensburg, Washington

I had a great time. I brought my motorcycle and was able to do a one on one ride with Jonah Street to his favorite single track. It was a really neat experience. Great to meet Alan and Liz owners of Sportsmobile west. They are nice folks and sat around the campfire with them a couple nights. Didn't realize just how much Sportsmobile is a family owned and operated business.

Maybe it was Alan and Liz I saw on I-90?

There were at least a couple newer tan vans there. One guy left Friday morning I think.

Re: Overland Rally: Ellensburg, Washington

Hey there!

That was me you saw on the I-90. Alan and Liz had left the night before. Guess I came late to the party (too many kids in camp during the week) as there were no more SM left when we arrived on Saturday. Still had a great time!

We should do another local Meet/Greet and/or Camping trip!
