Parking near Telluride, Gunnison/Crested Butte, Salt Lake?

Will be heading out to ski in Telluride, Crested Butte, and Salt Lake City/Park City/Ogden areas soon. Request suggestions on nearby spots for overnight parking. Does anyone have nearby friends who might like to rent out a driveway? Thanks!

Re: Parking near Telluride, Gunnison/Crested Butte, Salt Lak

I will be moving to Evanston, Wyoming, on January 16th. It is only about 30 miles from Park City. Unfortunately we will be living in temporary quarters for a few months so no driveway for you to stay in. However, if you're in the area in after that time it would be great to get our two license plates together. Just send me a PM or email with your itinerary and cell number. Maybe we can arrange a time and place to meet.

Have a great trip!

Mac

Mac,

As I'm rapidly learning from planning summer trips with my son, you're moving into the heart of some prime fossil country. If you're not into fossils, you may be into them soon.

I'm quickly becoming an old fossil, Herb. Does that count?

If you are looking for a place to camp near Park City check out Jordanelle State Park. It is ten miles or less from Park City. Here is the website:

There also is a private commercial RV park in Coalville, Utah, about 20 miles east from Park City. Coalville is a nice little town. The RV park is next to the freeway however.

I live in Layton, just off I 15, if you want to use my RV Pad you are more than welcome for a few days. It's a large flat driveway w/ un-fenced rv pad.

If you want something else more realistic between Ogden and SLC also consider Cherry Hill campground which is on Hyw 89 in Kaysville. They don't get a lot of campers in the winter but I know they have some. It's 20 min to Snowbasin.

I can also give you other boondocking ideas around as well, since I did a ton of it in my SMB until I finally picked up a house.

Feel free to email me.
