Keep doing that!!

Take it with you if you go to Coyote. There are goldens in the lakes up there I am told. If you go North to Mammoth, check out Hot Creek, although they are finicky there. Any decent size creek should have some fish in it. Just look for slow spots where they can hold.

I did ice fishing in Bridgeport around May and it was fun. Bring something to create a hole to fish assuming that the ice is still thick enough. It was a lot of fun.

Coyote Flats trip report

Hey guys just wanted to report back on our little extended weekend trip and share some pics and video.

We left Los Angeles Saturday morning and decided to check out Kennedy Meadows since we've never been before. I was surprise to see the campground was nearly empty on a holiday weekend. We found a nice little boondock near the rivver that had an existing fire ring. We plunked our chairs in the river and drank beers and hung out all daywith the pup and did a little fishing. It was nice and cool in the river.

The next morning i fished the river a bit more and then we broke down camp and headed up to Lone Pine for breakfast. After that we continued on to Bishop. We quickly checked out a few spots i saw on satalite map on the Owens but it was blazing hot and really crowded so we headed for the hills.

I aired down at the start of Coyote Valley road and we plowed up the sand wash and then the switchbacks. it was really hot so as soon as we hit the trees we gave the van a break and let the dog stretch her legs. We then continued on through the creek crossings and found a nice wide open spot to set up.We went for a short hike made a great meal of bison steak and corn on the cob and then after a great sunset watched "In the army now" (ive been on a pauly shore kick lately) on the projector.

We woke up with the sun, had some cereal and then explored a little. We drove up higher and found a nice snow drift for the dog to play in and some fun rough trails and mud crossings to drag the van over. We slowly made our way back down to bishop and into the hot hot heat.

We stopped in Big Pine at a nice little cafe that had outdoor seating for the pup and spray misters and enjoyed a cherry pie a la mode and then moved on to Alabama Hills. There was hardly anyone there, we got our favorite spot and enjoyed another short hike and a great sunset dinner.

It was a great short trip. Coyote flats is amazing, nice and cool and fun trails. I cant wait to get back up there.

Awesome Job folks! Great shots, great video, looks like it was a successful trip. I know our e350 4x4 will make it up there, wondering if a 4x4 170 wb sprinter would...
