PNWSMB Forum Summer Camping Trip

I was sad to miss the SMB Forum meet and greet in June and wanted to see if there were others interested in a SMB Forum camping trip. I have a great location in mind that I camped at last summer on the South Fork of the Tieton River near Rimrock Lake. There is a large level clearing at the bend in the river and it is accessible to 4x4 and 2x4 vans and there is enough space for 10-15 vans without being crowded. This is boondock camping and there are no services, well there was one outhouse but I looked scary and I did not venture into it.

I am proposing 2 dates; either the weekend of August 28th or September 18th depending on which would get the most attendance. I would head over a day or two early to secure the spot.

There are lots of trails not to far away for those that would want to 4x4 as well as a trip to the slide over Hwy 410 that happened last winter might be very interesting for those who are not 4x4.

Let me know if you are interested.

John

Re: PNWSMB Forum Summer Camping Trip

September 18 is a possibility for us. I think this is also about the time of the fall release on the Tieton, which would be great for those who raft or kayak.

Re: PNWSMB Forum Summer Camping Trip

Great to get the ball rolling. I know everyone in attendance at the PNW meet and greet said they would love a late summer/fall camping trip rendezvous. Most seem to have busy summer schedules going. I will have to check with the schedule keeper and see if that is within our time frames.

Thanks for starting the ball rolling John.

The September date may work for us as well but I'd have to work around the kid's soccer game schedules.:-(

Put me in as a definite maybe.

John,

Sounds fun, the date in September would work best for us. Thanks for setting it up.

He is still in AK currently. Another month living out of the smb. Internet has been spotty and mostly dial up. He said he is going to do a trip report when he gets home.
