Point Reyes

Hi all! Hermit Valley was beautiful, but we're heading the opposite direction this weekend. We've got a cool cabin in Tomales Bay/Point Reyes for a couple of nights but are looking for a neat place to park in between a San Fran visit and Tomales Bay. Any thoughts? Mt. Tamalpais is all booked up. Nothing fancy required. Just a pretty view.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Point Reyes

Where did you end up? Sorry, just saw the post. I was thinking it's really hard to find stealth with a view camping in the somewhat urban area. I was going to suggest Jenner or Bodega BAy and do some backtrack. There is also Sonoma Lake and Frog Pond in Guerneville, if it's open.

Re: Point Reyes

Your right, it's hard to find a forest road in that part of the woods........ Just by luck and a very nice bottle of wine, the bar tender at Nic'c Cove restaurant in Tomales Bay told us the parking lot above the boat launch ( next to the bar) was open to overnight "parking". We thanked him and ordered a night cap...... We had the place to our selves and only had a quick flash of a spot light from the park ranger and all was good. We woke up in the fog and wandered next door for free coffee.

On a non SMB note we stayed in a glass tree house on the other side of the bay for a few days. It was very cool and worth a stay. If anyone is interested drop us a note and we'll get you the info. I'll put some pictures in our gallery.

have fun!
