Is that Bronco going to fit in there? Sean reported it to be 81" H x 183" L x 84" W.

There's still some time before the trip so I'll put you down as a "maybe" for now.

Re: Racetrack, Death Valley Group Trip - October 4-6, 2013

This trip is coming up so I thought I would give the post a bump in case anyone missed it who still wants to go. The morning report hasn't changed much with regards to our route except that there might be some construction on highway 190 west of Panamint Springs. For the 2WD'ers who would like to attend, Scotty's Castle Road is now open to the start of Racetrack Valley Road (Here is a link to the route: http://goo.gl/maps/dSyBC).

Here is something from the Backcountry Camping section of the Death Valley website to keep in mind if you are going:
Quote:
Campfires are prohibited, except in fire pits in developed campgrounds. Gathering wood is unlawful and burning of wood is not allowed in the backcountry. Campstoves and barbeque grills are allowed. Charcoal ashes must be packed out.
I am getting excited and I hope to see you there!

Steve in L.A.

Re: Racetrack, Death Valley Group Trip - October 4-6, 2013

I'm out. I was in Sedona last weekend working on the house and will be going to Redbull rampage next week. Can I say windshield time.

That's my official answer and come Friday I might get a wild hair and just go.

Re: Racetrack, Death Valley Group Trip - October 4-6, 2013

Without turning this thread into a political discussion, I should say that the government shutdown may have an impact on our destination (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/10 ... ent-shuts/). I have e-mailed Panamint Springs Resort to ask if they will still be open even if the park is not. More shall be revealed. I am not letting this put a damper on what will still be an awesome adventure!
