Re: Red Rock Canyon State Park (CA) wildflowers

Yes, the wind... It was so gusty the first night that I lowered my top most of the way down so the van wouldn't rock so much. The second night was much calmer.

Steve

We're in Ventura and thinking of getting an awning. What brand do you have and how do you like it?

Thanks, Mark

Re: Red Rock Canyon State Park (CA) wildflowers

Mark, I got the awning from Sportsmobile in Fresno not quite a year ago. Sorry, I can't tell you the brand without going out to look at the documentation in the van. But it's whatever Sportsmobile sells. Since I got it, I've only used it once and that was just after I got it. I just haven't been parking so that the passenger side of the van is getting the sun. But it looks great when extended and shades the van well. It's easy to extend and wind back in (it's all manual).

Sorry I can't help more.

That would be a Fiamma awning. Others are out there like ARB and CVT(cascade vehicle tent), lighter weight and fabric cover sleeve.
Steve, nice setup you got there, I think I need a KTM to go on the back of my rig too, someday[emoji39]
