Reno Area Trip?

Anybody up for a short trip in the Reno area? We're thinking of heading to Pyramid Lake for a day or two, but not hung up on that paticular spot. Just thot it might be fun for a quick get-together if anyone is in the area?????

OK, be that way - I'll just go by myself....

Sorry no one will be in the area.

Sorry, I'm a bit far for a quick weekender. I have plans for a week in the upper eastern Sierra in Oct.

Maybe next time!

Yeah Jeffrey, Santa Barbara is a bit of a haul for a couple of days. Maybe see ya when you do the eastern Sierra trip if you go far enough north?

Well, just got back from our quick trip. A great time was had by all, but then again, that was just me and the wife....
Here's a few photos of where we went. Sorry about the quality, just a little camera and old shaky hands.

Went first went to a little lake/pond near the house.

Mostly ducks and small bass in the pond.

Meadow next to the pond

We then headed over to Lost Creek where a friend joined us for dinner.

Finally, as we planned, over to Pyramid Lake. We camped where most folks do - by the woman and basket formation right on the lake. Had the place to ourselves. Lake was even warm enough for a quick swim.

This is the Woman and Basket formation.

The cove on the other side of the rocks from camp.

I hiked up the hill and took a shot back toward camp.

We took a quick ride up the east side of the lake where the road started to get a little rougher.

Kind of a quick trip, but I had to fit it between other commitments.

Pyramid Lake

Scatter, sorry I missed you. I'm not that far from the lake (Fallon) but I didn't get my SMB until Friday, the 28th and it took the weekend before I felt I was ready to "hit the road". Nice photos.

Fallon? You're right around the corner. We're out of Blairsden in the mountains about an hour northwest of Reno. We go thru your area a dozen times a year heading for cool places in Nevada.
Congrats on the SMB! Sounds like ours are similar 'cept for the engines.

Very nice pictures and good to see you had fun. I will definitely have to check out Pyramid Lake if we are even in that area.
