Ron & Sheila's Summer vacation

From Jackson Wy, we went to Kalispell Mt. spent the night in Walmart parking lot. Up early headed to Glacier NP
Stoped at the big Cedars hike and took a stroll.

Then off to the great "Going to the sun road" Man what a bitch that was to build. Sheila didnt enjoy that so much a little steep for her. After exiting the park we went on in to Canada and Waterton AB and Crandall Lake campground it was pretty but nothing to exciting
Hiked to Crandell Lake first thing in the morning that was peaceful. Then to town to check out the Prince Of Wales Hotel. Very cool for a Hotel high winds blew it off center when they were building it in 1916 and it is 8in off center you can see it looking up the pillars on the inside. cool

Re: Ron & Sheila's Summer vacation

From Waterton Lakes we went to Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump. 5000 thousand years for history recorded there super cool i would say a must see if your in that area.
Left Alberta and headed to Fernie BC nice campground on the west side of town. great cherrys at the roadside market. We headed out to Banff Ab. in the morning and of course that drive was amazing. stayed at "Two Jack Lakes" main camp campground. had the place to ourselves. did a little mt biking until i broke a peddle (new bike 3rd ride)
Wednesday morning leaving the CG heading into Banff to get ready for our big Day.

Ron and Sheila got Married in Banff Ab

We had planned to do this 2 weeks before we left everything just fell into place and it was a perfect day. We grabbed a random couple to be our witnesses and they were great.

Re: Ron & Sheila's Summer vacation

Having just got Married we of course we had to stay at the Banff Springs Hotel.
What a great day this was doing what we love and getting Married in the middle of it just the 2 of us no friends or family to deal with and i think we saved about 10k by eloping.

Ok moving back to the trip. we spent another day in Banff we love it there had some great Sushi and a little place called the Sushi house super small place but great food a cheap. we left stuffed for $45 bucks.
Left Banff and headed to Lake Louise the camp ground has a electric fence around it to keep the bears out. we road our Mt Bikes to the lake from the CG big ass hill. (got the peddle fixed in Banff)

headed out to Nelson Bc the next day and stayed there over night we did somemore Mt Biking and hiking
we had planed to camp and travel another week but changed our minds and headed home for some relaxing and time with our dog who stayed home.
The trip was great the people were great and i couldn't be happier. Once again We are amazed with Canada and it people. Canada might be a move we make in the next few years. who knows.

Thanks for looking.
I will add some random pictures shortly

Ron

Re: Ron & Sheila's Summer vacation

Great trip and congrats! My only suggestion for a return trip is to spend some time in Jasper. We really enjoyed it there.... more so than Banff. Sounds like you hit the right timing and no crowds. Thanks for posting the pics.
