Scenic Tire Change

Nicely done! I’ve got the plugs but I’ll have to add some tire patches to my arsenal now for sure.
I hate to admit this, but I think we may have seen you parked on one of the beaches along the stretch south from Cabo Pulmo to San Jose del Cabo....on or around March 3, was that you? We drove in to say hi, but no one around that we could see without intruding too much, and we went on our way.
We’re still down here, holed up outside of Mulegé at Hacienda la Habana with only 6 other rigs, about a dozen others, it’s a nice little orange orchard RV park surrounded by farms, so plenty of produce to be had and very peaceful, for now. Monitoring the recent shutdowns, and restrictions.

No, not me. There are a lot of "Baja Tan" SMBs out there!

I'm reading that the military and police are currently closing & blocking off all the popular beaches.

You're the Man! Awesome bush repair. It's amazing what a guy will come up with when faced with ending a trip too soon

Scenic Tire Change

Yes, I believe they implemented full lockdown as of today, all non essential travel is prohibited, and they’re actively closing and clearing campers off the beaches. It’s a good thing we vacated the beach when we did and got to the little RV park outside Mulegé where we are, cause they’re not allowing anyone else in, well except for the rig that came in this afternoon(knew the owner) after getting kicked off the beach.
Anyway, Easter is a big deal down here and traditionally everyone flocks to the beaches, we’ll have to see if closing the beach access is going to keep the local population from gathering.

Outstanding job Geofff! I love that feeling when you try a stretch accomplishment and it works out.
Thanks for sharing.

Great job, and very resourceful. Bob Wohlers teaches this sidewall repair method at his seminars and also goes into more detail in his book "Raising your 4wd vehicle off road, and in-field tire repair" https://www.amazon.com/Raising-Vehic...6115149&sr=8-1

He said he has driven for days after using this method. After my second side wall blew out, I decided I needed two spares, a compressor, a plug kit, patches, a tire iron and more. I upgraded a couple years ago, and haven't had a flat since. Better safe than sorry I guess.

You’re so smart and prepared always wanted to do a Baja trip but I know how bad roads are in Mexico, especially those unsuspected speed bumps. No wonder there are so many tire repair shops in Mexico.
