SMB Group Meeting - Grand Canyon
Ok, I just edited the title of this thread. Come one, come all. Kick tires and trade lies. See amazing vehicles disguised as mild mannered vans! Meet some wonderful people. Firewood will be provided.
Anybody up for meeting up on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in Oct?
I'll be there late in the month, approx. 20th - 26th.
Usually nice days and cool nights that time of year. The crowds are gone and we've never needed reservations at that time of year.
My goal is to hike to the river and back in one day.
I'd like to see some other SMB's there. editI will not stick a magnet on your van!
Mike

Re: South Rim in October
Any of you interested in hiking to the river and back, or more interested in camping and short hikes?

South Rim in October
Done it and not sure I want to do it as a day hike. With two dogs it might be hard to leave them that long in the van.

Re: South Rim in October
I'm not sure why I want to do it, but it is on my Bucket List. So, I'm going to do it.
And, if it goes well I may do a Rim to Rim next year.

Re: South Rim in October
Hi Mike:
Count me in. Just let me know the exact dates as soon as possible. I think I'm getting my vertigo under control, so I'm hoping to have it completely licked by then. However, after almost five years of no exercise, I doubt I'd be able to make the hike. But I'd like to.

Re: South Rim in October
We might be able to come depending on what weekend, right now at least October looks to be busy for us.
Oh and do we need to be 4x4 for anything? Unless something changes it wont be installed by then. Lots of camping in August for us. We really want to go on one of these trips some time. They always look like fun.
