SOCAL - Main Divide 8.9.08

It will be basically a test run for me to get used to driving the SMB.

We are going to run up Indian Truck trail from I-15 to Main Divide and down to Ortega Highway (Saddleback is still closed ). After that we'll head down to Wildomar OHV area for a few flexy articulation testing and hopefully find one of the 11 campsites open for the night. If not , we'll head back out to Ortega and stay at Blue Jay. We'll head home Sunday after breakfast.

If anyone wants to come let me know. So far its one Jeep and the SMB.

We'll leave this saturday from Corona around noon.

Dave,

I took this trail a couple of month backs and had a fun day. We started from the Ortega Hwy side -- One of the things the kids and I try to do is find the highest peak to have lunch

Here are some pics of our lunch spot -- this is a challenging hill that the SMB made with no problem --If you are coming from I15 you can go up the hill but must turn around and come down because of low tree branches on the other side. The jeep was able to make it through with no problem.

With spotter coming down

This pic has your new Aluminess box on the back still

This is the main divide trail below heading north towards I15 - I believe about half way between Ortega and I15

Have Fun
Steve

Yeah there are many of those bypasses up there. Many of which get too narrow and turn into mtn bike or dirt bike trails. Been going up there for many years. Led 22 rigs all the way across from Skyline drive in Corona to Ortega one year. Good times for sure. Your rig looks great up there (especially with that box on the back ), really in it's element.

We should get some good pics, im looking forward too it.

We may head somewhere else now (higher elevation with a lake).... since it's going to be 90 degrees this weekend. I will post up if plans change.
