Just Finished Texas..
Just got back from a Wichita falls, Fredericksburg, San Antonio Mustang Island trip. Hot but the German food and beer made it worth it. The beach was great too!

Well, this vacation has been altered due to the whole damn forest being closed due to fire threats. We're going to bail north towards the Tetons, our default setting for a good time.
We still plan to spend a few days at the north rim and Zion but after that I think we'll head up towards Wyoming.

Just FYI, look up 416 fire, it is a large fire just outside of Durango > 20,000 acres only around 20% contained, many have been evacuated. Also news reported a new fire by Silverthorne this morning.

Hi Eric --
Bummer about the San Juans, but the Tetons are always great!
I'll probably be hanging out in Tetons/Yellowstone for most of June, so reach out if y'all want to get together (T-Mobile is spotty, but I try to get email knocked down once a day)

Cool, some more easterners (Twogone - Marc and Christine) are out there somewhere now as well. Lots of Sportsmobiles and related vans out there but flag them down if you see them. Twogone's rig is one of a kind and they are super folks. There's a few pics of it around here to see what they look like.
I'll text you when we're there, should be the last week of June.

Yeah, the Hole is crazy with vans: privately owned SMBs and other brands, home brews, lots of MB vans with European plates, and lots of Canadians.
The biggest change over last year however is the huge number of rental camping vans (Escape, Juicy, Eco, Adventure, Mountain and other companies that I haven't heard of). Ford vans (E and T series), Connects, Nissan small vans, Dodge Caravans. Many of them have rooftop tents.

We're leaving SoCal Friday evening and stopping in San Francisco Saturday. Then on up the coast to camp in Crescent City, Coos Bay and Lincoln City. Then over to South Lake Tahoe later next week. Ten days round trip.

Schluchtenflitzer continues to eclipse the "get out and use your van" spectrum.... I'll be in the Jackson/Teton Valley area July 6th-12th Eric if you're still around. I'm guessing you'll be headed back east though.
