Sunset from our camp spot just outside Borrego Springs

Made a quick trip with Ramsey and Jan from Agile OffRoad over the weekend to the desert. Started in Plaster City off 8 and headed North up the train road to Ocotillio Wells and ended up just outside Borrego Springs.

Snapped a pic of a group of Jeeps coming out of the valley at sunset. After that we had the whole valley to ourselves and a great sunrise the next morning. More images from the trip coming.

Always enjoy your photos. Do you ever get out to Coyote Canyon? That was always a favorite trail of mine. Nice scenery and a challenge for newbies in stock trucks.

I miss the West Coast!

The above picture was from Coyote Canyon - they have "improved" the trail. Last time I was there was 23 years ago when you could drive all the way through - I had an '84 Jeep Cherokee then.

You guys make me want to live on the east side of Oregon. Living on the west side is good but no great views without hours of travel.

Right on! Every direction you turn around here, there's another tree in your face. Can't see the lay of the land.

Re: Sunset from our camp spot just outside Borrego Springs

Around 1993 I drove all the way through to Anza in my 1991 Jeep Comanche. Unfortunately my u-bolt plate (below the axle) hit a rock on Turkey Track and I snapped my rear main leaf spring at the front mount. Using a snow chain and a tow strap to hold the rear axle in place I was able to drive out and drive home. After that I had National Spring build me a military wrap replacement. A couple of years later the Park Service closed Upper Willows and never reopened it. I used to like to go to Baily's Cabin and see the wild horses that roamed that area. That stretch past Collins Valley was so remote and challenging. I've never taken my van up the bypass road into Collins Valley; I've heard it is not too bad right now and imagine the one picture shows your van on it. I really need to do that!
