Re: The next Meet and Greet ?

We found two spots on the Tour de Lost Coast

However they are WAY north

One south of Eureka 30 miles
(2wd fine)

One north of Ft Bragg 30 miles
(4x4 probably, Mac could make if not too muddy)

oh, and the 30 miles will take close to 2 hours :)

Also, Van Damm State park has a great Group site
It is just south of Ft Bragg and would only be
20 minutes from Ft Bragg

Re: The next Meet and Greet ?

BillPa1 here. I live in La Mesa, CA and Anza Borrego is fantastic from about February on. I camp at Split Mountain and drive about an hour off the pavment to very promative camping. You are mostly alone and there as some fantastic sandstone structurs to see. I just took delivery of my SMB in Dec so my first shake down cruz will be in a few weeks. I am waiting on my solar cells and rack from Alumaness.
Camp ON!

Re: The next Meet and Greet ?

Just got back from a weekend in the Fish Camp area, had an awesome trip, camped with no one else around, did a couple of sweet hikes to the Wind Caves, and The Slot, great spot. Started to Diablo Drop, but stopped mid way through Broken Driveshaft Gulch, when I thought it was gonna get too gnarly. Good stuff otherwise though.
