After reading Txn2daBone's report I was inspired and decided it was time for a quick get away to the Trona Pinnacles. I have been there several times by dirtbike over the years and was there 4x4ing a few years ago in 117 heat. This time the temps were 70 in the day and 33 at night. Espar D2 set at the halfway point kept it at 67 in the van all night. Not another soul camping in the area and I only witnessed a couple of cars and a few dirtbikes go by the entire time.
