Day: 08 (12/27/2012):

Travel the Icefields Parkway from Banff to Jasper.

Prior to departing for Jasper, I checked my available funds from an application on my phone and I noticed that the remaining money that I had set aside for this trip was now missing. I immediately contacted my financial institution and we identified the bogus charges (sequential/repetitive charges of the exact same amount, processed today). My account had been hacked and basically drained. Unlike previous trips, we were not really prepared for this scenario. As such, we were forced to work through some hoops in order to obtain enough cash to get us by for the duration of our trip (assuming no more unforeseen mechanical or other issues).

Now that we were capable of purchasing fuel, food, and lodging... we were able to continue our trip.

Note: Once back in the states, I went through the process of filling out the necessary paperwork to challenge these charges and get all of my misdirected money back. As of January, 07 2013 - I have still yet to receive reimbursement for the stolen funds.

This was the last day of our trip.

Today's route: 312 miles.

Aftermath of semi tractor trailer fire.

Returned to home to find that recent winds had taken down more than a dozen trees on our property. Fortunately there was no damage to any structures... just a lot of trail clean-up to be done.
