I've tent camped at Bryce at the end of October and it was colder than a well digger's butt.
Got down to 25 at night, frost on the toe end of the sleeping bag. Of course if we were in a van it would have more tolerable. We hustled out of there after hiking for the day and went back to Zion where is was only 50 at night. Bryce is an awesome park though and hope to go back some day.

I'd take the bikes.

You can ride all the way the canyon in Zion, from the campground to the visitor's center in Valley of Fire and many other places.

Hate to start the van when I'm camped, rather hike or ride the bikes.
