Re: Utah Trip Report - June 2012

Is it possible that it could be allergies to something in your home or something you might be eating?

My dad had inner ear problems that cause him to be light headed and he after years found out it was an allergy to dairy products plus some other things. I guess it caused some slight blockage to the drainage inside his ears. This problem was worsened by moving from a house that was over two hundred years old that they lived in for over fifty years to an apartment built in the 1990s. It took a long time to find the problem but he has almost no problems with it anymore. One thing that really helped him was doing saline nose flushes everyday. Mold allergies can also cause serious problems and they can go undetected for a long time and they can happen to any home old or new. Have you lived in your home a long time? Have you had anything done to it like new carpet or flooring in the months before you got ill?

I also like Herbs EMF ideas, maybe there are high voltage lines near your home. Things like that don't bother everyone but some people are very sensitive to things like that.

I hope you feel better soon...

Regards
Jamie

Thanks everyone for your ideas. We've tried everything medical. We had a flood in our house five years ago. We think it is something in the house. But I am the only one affected. Hopefully this test will be conclusive on that pointl

I think you need to stop smacking yourself in the forehead everytime you make a mistake!

Oh? So that's the reason for my vertigo? That could be since I make a lot of mistakes!

Ah, then you must be plenty smart by now. I believe we learn best by making mistakes. I've learned plenty too.

Re: Utah Trip Report - June 2012

Went back up to the cottage at Bear Lake in northern Utah for a final test of the theory that my vertigo might be caused by my home in Vegas. Nope! Was spinning like crazy while there. The good news -- we don't have to move. The bad news -- this was the last of almost 40 possible causes for the vertigo that have now been eliminated. Guess I will just have to let it ride.

However, the trip did give me another opportunity to use the Sportsmobile. Here are a few of the pictures I took on this week long trip:

Cute old garage in Kanarraville, Utah

Orrin Porter Rockwell's cabin in Eureka, Utah. Look up his storied history. Pretty interesting.

Beautiful (dead) downtown Eureka, Utah. Almost, but not yet, a ghost town.

The remains of Silver City, Utah. My maternal and paternal grandparents had competing grocery stores in this old mining town around 1910. My uncle, a famous composer and conductor of the Utah Symphony, was born here in 1912.

The smoke from the Fontenelle fire in Wyoming as seen from Bear Lake, Utah, more than 100 miles away.

Also saw a couple of white SMBs up at the lake. They must not be on the Sportsmobile Forum because they seemed very unimpressed when I waved at them. I even pulled up along side one of them and rolled my window down to talk to them, but they just drove off. Guess not all SMB owners are interested in talking to other SMB owners.

Re: Utah Trip Report - June 2012

Sorry to hear that you haven't found the cause of your vertigo. If nothing else, it looks like you had another great trip.

If everything goes right for my son and me, later this summer we'll be relatively close to Bear Lake. We're going on another dino dig, and this time we'll dig for trilobites in central Utah, and but then we'll look for fossilized fish near Kemmerer Wyoming, which isn't too far away.
