Great post and information, thanks! We were only able to spend about 48 hours on Vancouver Island last week, so we didn't have any time for "out of the way" exploring. So, we stayed at the Gold Stream and French Beach campgrounds. Both were great and almost completely empty. No bear sightings, but we did have some other incredible wildlife experiences. We loved it here and are already looking forward to our next trip where we will actually have some real time there. I will be making a separate post about our trip...eventually.
