As always this was a great trip! I had a lot of fun and once again the weather did pretty darn good for us! Radio communication was huge on this trip too. The following week I went on a trip with upwards of 21 trucks and the little handheld radios were terrible. I needed to be within 1-2 truck lengths to get out what I was saying. My onboard radio trumped the handheld which didnt help. I am just happy someone lent me a radio to use, if I had of bought one of the handhelds I would have been very disappointed with its quality.

Wow, 21 trucks, you must have overwhelmed every restaurant, gas station, campground and grocery story you patronized. The owners must have loved your group. As for the hand held radio you disliked, I assume you are talking about the FRS radios, the type for sale at most malls, sporting goods store etc. When I lent out my Baofeng handheld, it seemed to have a reasonable range for a handheld. No handheld though, will ever compare to a high powered mobil rig. Anyway, glad you had a good time, I'm looking forward to the next one.
