Re: VivaLaVida in Alaska [updated page 4, 01/30/15]

As always Claude, Spectacular photos, but I'm not too sure about the bears. I've lived in Alaska a good part of my life, and prefer to give the bears as wide a berth as possible. You just never know when one might be having a bad day. Lots of folks get great close up photos, myself included, but I've decided to keep my distance. Never the less, you seem to have survived quite nicely and no doubt will continue to take amaing photos.

Claude I'd love to see a map of where you camped but that's up to you. Awesome anyway.

I understand Jeff. I know it may be dangerous sometimes but I try to stay alert at every moment to see if attitude would change. Never had any probelm till now, either in Africa with large predators. Hope to not have any bad encounter but you never know, it can happend every time...

More great pics! Your Dall ram pic reminds me of one I took back in the 90s in Denali, way up on a ridge top (can't recall the name, but we accessed the path up just before the park road checkpoint). Very cool animals!

Wow! Outstanding. Thanks for sharing.

The last time I was in Alaska was 31 years ago doing a geology field camp. These pics make me want to go back real bad.
