I have always wanted to explore Iceland, how great would it be to do it in my own rig like your doing, certainly not as easy to transport to Iceland from North America. Very jealous!

Well, there is not much way to move a vehicle from US to Iceland. I did some research some years ago and found only two:
- if the vehicle fits in a container, you can some rare cargo ship linking the East Coast to Iceland. Cost is about 5,000$ for a container and the same for the way back.
- if the vehicle doesn't fit in a container (VivaLaVida doesn't), you have to ship in with RORO (roll on roll out) to Europe (I paid about 3,200$ + 400$ harbour taxes), then to take thee ferry form Denmark to Iceland which costed about 4,000$ two way for VLV.
As everything is really expensive in Iceland, when you've to add boat costs, it's definitely not a cheap journey...

Wow! $4K for round trip ferry from Europe? I'd look into putting some pontoons on my van and strap an outboard motor on the back.

Pictures are fabulous - living vicariously through you, just keep them coming or i'll need treatment for depression.
