Washington (Northwest) Meet and Greet?

Who would be up for a Seattle area meet and greet? Any suggestions for locations?

Peter (In Renton, south of Seattle)

I'd love to, especially if it was in late July.

Peter,

We are in as well provided we are in town. We will be picking up our new rig end of June (fingers crossed), so if would be more fun for us if it was after that but we would probably show up either way.

Count me in also as long as we are in town.
Location isn't too critical, we can travel some

I'm up for it too. I'm up in Bellingham so it's an hour or two of driving for me to get to most Seattle area locations, but I'm off work at 4:30 Tuesday through Friday.

Sounds like we've got a party. The questions are who's up for what, and when? If we're clever I'm sure we can accommodate both campers and meet and greeters.

I'd be up for a simple meet and greet or some camping. We're setting dates on some small family trips as we speak, otherwise I'm flexible. I can do weekend or during the week. If camping is involved during the week would be a little better. Seems like everywhere gets crowded on the weekend around here in the summer. Damn REI! So anytime over the next few months for me, I think.

I'd vote for sooner rather than later, juts cause I want to do it. I'd also vote for a meet and greet in the morning, then those who are interested could take a forest service route I've been waiting for the snow to melt to try through the mountains for some camping in the desert. If someone wanted to do the drive but not the camping I'm sure it'd work.

If we do this before everyone has their vans we can always repeat the exercise later in the year. A fall trip would be nice too. If we do in July or August we may want to avoid sleeping in the desert.

Pete

I'd be interested in coming up if the dates work. We'll be up on San Juan Island with the SMB in early August and could maybe detour en route, but also like the idea of something sooner.

They're also gonna be rock crawlin' in Ellensberg June 20-22 (Western Regional), and we're thinking about heading that way via Packwood and the Chinook Scenic Byway (Hwy 410), exploring over there. Maybe we should show up en masse at the rock crawl and demand a new SMB class !!

Do you mean WEROCK? It looks like the Ellensburg event is canceled. See http://www.we-rock.cc/...

West Event 3 Schedule Change

There has been a schedule change in the W.E.ROCK Western U.S. Nationals that will move the event from the highly anticipated Ellensburg, WA venue to the family friendly Cedar City, Utah. The event dates will stay the same as listed, June 21-22 with Tech on the 20th. For more info, check out the links below...
I checked because I had just decided on some plans with some friends to do some exploring in the Ellensburg area (Quilomene, Schaake, Whiskey Dick areas) that weekend.

yep, that was the one. Bummer. Had heard there were some challenges with the venue and may have been permitting issues. Too bad. If you end up exploring over there anyway would be interested in a trip report thx Geoff
