Re: We need Trip Reports
I did an easy and pleasant trip to Lake Moreno last weekend with my kayak group. I'm the only Hobie Mirage peddler but I try to keep up.
The wind and Santa Ana conditions put a damper on things but it was 15 degrees cooler there that at the beach in San Diego (around 100!). Here's how I unload with my Yakima side bar (note the bar shadow on the side of the van and if you look close you can see the bar in the green brush).
For Saturday night I popped up to the Corral Canyon OHV area above the lake and as I hoped it was too hot for those quad and motorcycle guys and my friend and I had Bobcat Meadows campground (free) all to ourselves.
We did the shorter Skye Road loop on Sunday which includes a great view of Lake Morena (and other sights) along the way.
