We need Trip Reports

One of the things I enjoy about this forum is living vicariously through other members trip reports. It's nice to see where other members are heading and what areas of the country they explore.

The weekend trip to your favorite close to home getaway could be the seed planted that grows into another members upcoming vacation plan.

How about it folks? If you head out for a short trip or a long trip toss a few words and a couple pictures together and post a thread. If you do a weekend run to test out a new piece of kit toss in a product review too.

Not all trip reports need to have a quality video attatched......hint.....hint

Re: We need Trip Reports

I'll try to document my adventures better for presentation here.

John, thanks for the comment about the video. I find that I can not watch amateur home videos without getting a headache in about ten seconds, so I skip all reports with video.

Re: We need Trip Reports

I did an easy and pleasant trip to Lake Moreno last weekend with my kayak group. I'm the only Hobie Mirage peddler but I try to keep up. The wind and Santa Ana conditions put a damper on things but it was 15 degrees cooler there that at the beach in San Diego (around 100!). Here's how I unload with my Yakima side bar (note the bar shadow on the side of the van and if you look close you can see the bar in the green brush).

For Saturday night I popped up to the Corral Canyon OHV area above the lake and as I hoped it was too hot for those quad and motorcycle guys and my friend and I had Bobcat Meadows campground (free) all to ourselves.

We did the shorter Skye Road loop on Sunday which includes a great view of Lake Morena (and other sights) along the way.

I didn't mean no more videos. Some people wait to post a trip report till they get their video edited and sometimes that means never. I say post videos, I like to watch them. They just don't have to be a real high quality edited version like Marc and Christines.
