I did some work for a start up uranium company in the Moab area a couple of years ago. Interestingly, enough the "hottest" spot we tested was not at any of the mines or any of the newer claims, but right there at the top of the road to Mineral Bottom. Where everyone stops to take a break after the climb up, especially the mtn bikers.
I presume that ore tumbling out of the trucks back in the 50s got incorporated into the road bed by graders or bulldozers. It must have required a lot of maintenance for all the traffic. Those miners were industrious for sure.
