Who's going to Alaska this summer?
Anyone headed North this summer? Where are you going? I'm starting my trip at the B.C. Overland rally in Whistler BC. BCOR - BC Overland Rally

Cool! I will be at BCOR as well, hope to bump into you and check out your rig.
Where are you guys planning to stay while in BC? We have a spare bedroom in the lower mainland if you are okay with a dog.

Thanks for the offer, but I had to chuckle a bit. REF and I had this discussion a while back. So many folks are generous in offering lodging, but some get offended when we say " thanks, but I prefer to sleep in my van" A couple days later REF and I were discussing routes to Alaska and I mentioned we have a couple extra beds if he ends up anywhere nearby, and he gave me a priceless look that said, "didn't we just talk about that"? Uhhh, oh yea My normal reply to folks is that I have a CPAP installed in my van so I have to sleep there and that's usually a satisfactory excuse. Never the less, we love to visit with folks,we just prefer to sleep in your driveway.

I'm still planning on it.
How long of a time period after the BCOR you thinking?

Still doing Tuk as well I assume?
Right, at least a month, I really wanted to do at least 2, but I need to be back by about Aug 14.

We have the same response. Lots of family thinks we should sleep on their hide a bed in the Living Room. Uh NO, I built my favorite bedroom on wheels, thanks.
Jealous of the Alaska trip though. On my bucket list.

So, figure out how to get away from the shop for two weeks. Drive two days to the BC Overland Rally at Whistler, open the van for folks to see, and the whole trip is tax deductible. After the rally, head North, for a week of exploring, then take a different route home, all in two weeks. Itll make a great video. The Reds should be running by the time we get there.
