Why we own SMBs or Spring 2016 AZ & CO

CaptainVO's thread (Why we own SMB's is spot-on and made me feel guilty for not posting a trip report this spring so here it goes. (Besides which, I have a "fixing things" questions I need to ask.)

We fled Expo to leave the wind behind and hit a couple of spots in the vicinity, starting at Tony's Tank

Then heading to Marshall Lake

The heat and fire smoke chased off to SW Colorado and Boggy Draw, a mtb trail network JoeH recommended (are there any trails he hasn't explored in the west?)

With magnificent views on its routes

And shady paths through oak and ponderosa

A day trip scouting Calico Trail, a favorite place near Lizard Head Wilderness, found the trail closed for mud but the views open for photos. Here's a distant view of a campsite

Vermillion Peak from the site

And two of the three 14-ers ringing Navajo Basin north of the site

Heading home, we stopped for a couple of days at Williams Creek Lake outside Pagosa to kayak on the lake with friends (but no pics of that).

Home for a bit, dealing with "axle" and other issues, but back out soon with more pics to remind us of why we own this vehicle.
