I also wanted mine to be VivaLaVida's color but it's very difficult to make painting stick on polyethylene. I gave up for that.

Could you wrap it in vinyl to add color?

Well, difficult to say as it vary a lot. It depends of the heat (making the glacier melt), the rain and the time of the day. But it's not rare to have 3-5 feet deep crossings. I have seen many pictures and videos showing Land Rovers or similar 4WD cars with water up to the hood.

It's a good idea Brian but it's not gonna be easy to wrap it around since the shape is quite quirky!

I'd leave it just as it is - besides the obvious functionality, reflects creativity and ingenuity - If I were you I'd just enjoy the fact you have a professional one-off, and it looks cool!

That's what I'm gonna do, for now at least. But being able to change it for a clear color would reduce some degrees of the intake airflow and that would be better.

I wonder if you can powder coat or cerakote polyethylene? All depends on the curing temperature of the coating versus the melting temperature of polyethylene.
