Hey Claude,
did you ever thougt about built some in a small serie? I will be your first customer!
I really would be interessted in the "outside" parts. They fit on every Econoline. Just the Airbox and tubes than i have to make myself.
You know i need it

Hi Didi,
I understand your interest but there is no way for me to go ahead with a small serie. It's too much work to be worth it as I should create molds which would be impossible to amortize. But if you are ready to build one yourself, I can definitely give you tips and tricks. ;-)

Well, I'm pretty sure you could find somebody in Africa who knows how to work with PE (polyethylene), don't you? If so, I can send you a drawing of the intermediate part (the one placed behind the fender). The outside one is the easiest to build, just using standard 110mm PE pipes and PE plate... You will then just have to design the part from your 7.3 airbox to the inside fender plan. ;-)

Pschitt - this was such a cool Thread when you started it, and since that time I have found myself on several occasions wondering if you actually ended up putting the snorkel to use (high water)? If so, did your design serve you well (no leaks)?

Thanks TwoXentrix,
Yes, I definitely tested it in real condition, espacially in one ford where the water level reached the top of the headlights. No issue at all, everything went as planned, no leak in the airbox.
Moreover, on the trails in Iceland and despite pretty wet conditions, the prefilter catched an impressive amount of dust and needed to be emptied every 5-6 days. That demonstrates the importance of a prefilter when driving on trails.
All in one, I'm really happy with that project despite the work to realize it.

I am impressed the way you fabricated the box and connection, I bought one for my f250 and I need to modify mine like yours and I would like to make it as professional as yours, where did you get the materials for the box??
