A pillar cover removal

I'm looking to run my ScanGauge cable from my rearview mirror down to the OBD port, and want to tuck it behind the A pillar plastic cover. Has anyone removed the plastic cover A pillar cover and reinstalled it without damaging it? Any hints?

On mine there was a screw with a snap at the top covering a large long screw (a little to the side under the snap).

Then you can pop the rubber stoppers out of the 2 holes on the grab handle with your fingers (no need to pry just push around and they should give you an edge or pop out).

Under the stoppers are two bolts, one each. I think 8mm maybe? Anyway the handle comes right off without the bolts.

At the bottom it seemed I would have to take the dash apart to get the foot of the A pillar out, but there was plenty of room at that point to run my cat 5 so I didn't go any further. HTH

Herb,

When you do successfully complete this removal task, could you possibly take pictures and post here? I need to do something similar as well. Once a step-by-step is done, we could remove this current thread.
