aluminess product support
I just wanted to let every one know that Aluminess totally stands by their product. I heard water sloshing around while closing my tire side swing arm. After looking around found a crack under the tire mount swing arm at the weld. I called Aluminess just to get an idea for the best way to repair it. I've had the bumpers sense 2006 with no issues. They told me if I would pay to ship it to them they would take care of it for free and they would pay for return shipping no questions asked. This is a great product and even better support. It's nice to know that there are still stand up companies out there.
Sometimes you get what you pay for!
Thanks Aluminess!

Re: aluminess product support
They are great. Dave saved me money by asking me why I wanted a rack and the storage box on top.
He suggested putting a storage on my existing bumper. I did not know that was an option. He said it would work for me since I am not going to carry heavy gas cans. He attached a 2 gal gas container in back on the outside of the storage box.
Usually people want to sell you more, not less.

Re: aluminess product support
Well, not everyone has had good luck with Aluminess standing behind their product. You might think that they would when a custom made part is not made to the specs, but sometimes they won't help out the customer.

Same thing happened to my tire carrier. 2005! I've worked with Dave on several items. They're one of the best companies I've ever dealt with, IMHO.

Re: aluminess product support
I have several thousands of dollars of their product but I am one of those people that was not very happy with them on a custom product. Several months back I decided not to post publicly because the whole ordeal was so aggravating.
If you are considering custom work and want my opinion offline, then PM me.

Re: aluminess product support
I made sure that I got a "standard" box. The two custom things I had done did not go right. My estimate did not say "removable" shelves and table shelf "lip up" even though we had talked about both things.
Two of the shelves were to be removable. They had attached them so I could not remove them. Before I left I had to have them change that and use nuts and bolts like I asked.
The table shelf that I had them add inside was installed up side down. They had to make another shelf. I have to go back there some time and have the shelf replaced.
I did not notice till the next day that the box tilted back and was not level. I have not had a chance to get back to them. When I went to SMBW last month, they leveled the box at no charge.

Re: aluminess product support
Hi All, I just received my swing arm and it looks and works great! They added supports and replaced the damaged portion of the arm along with a fresh coat of paint. I can only speak for myself, but my experience has been nothing but good.
Let's hope summer is finally here. We still have 20 feet of that cold white sh## that we can't ski on...... bring on the sun!

Re: aluminess product support
I had a similar problem when I found my rear tire carrier (2006) was cracked. I sent it back at my expense, they fixed and improved the support arm and got it back to me quickly. For my situation, they provided great customer service.
