Re: Bike Rack Suprise Ending

Awesome set-up we almost chose the same. Ended up with the Swing Daddy hitch mount bike rack for our Road Bikes. The carbon fiber forks and wheels limited us to suspending the bikes from the frame to manage the lateral stress from stop and go force. May still get your set up for mountain bikes that don't get going to 40 or 50 mph downhill on pavement and don't have the carbon fiber. Anyway congratulations on your new addition. Looks good! Seeing the bumper from behind is good too.

Bill,
How far do those front tire loops hang on the side of the van?
Could you have turned the rails around for better clearance?

1) hang over LESS than the ladder sticks out
2) the way the rack is designed, cant turn around

best

Looked like more.....
first shot is w/o the plastic covers
which let the bar drop down
with the covers on, the rounded end of the bar is about even
with width of van/ladder

flopped around the other way
it would be WAY over
the front of the rack has a plate that tru bolts
not a slider like the back
