Black Hood/Rocker Panels?

Getting ready to get the front end of my '02 repainted due to the most excellent Clearcoat job from Ford... Currently the hood and top edges of the front fenders are peeling pretty bad. I'm sorta intrigued by the contrasting black hood/rocker panel wraps on a few of the newer SMB Sprinter 4x4s that they have delivered, but I'm not 100% sold yet...

Thoughts on a Silver van w/ the Black hood/lowers?? Anyone have a Silver or even a White Ford with the suggested contrast paint/wrap?

You can see my peeling hood here in this pic. Gotten a bit worse over this winter too as the 6" UJoint kit was a few inches too tall to fit in my garage anymore unlike when it was a sagging Quig...

Here's a shot of a newer 4x4 SMB Sprinter with black hood/rocker panels...

my rig is white with black rockers and top. http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/for...ture29627.html
Since I'm a carbon guy I'll be doing a carbon fiber hood because I can and it won't cost me much, and putting a CCV top on this spring so it will change a bit. CCV top will be white gel coat.

Forgot to mention I think it would look pretty good with a matte black hood and rockers and the plastic dip is a good idea as well to see if you like it. Heck you can get similar stuff at Home Depot

imho, i think what your proposing would look great. the black in the spots your thinking will tie in the flares, aluminess pieces parts, black wheels, and door handles nicely. if it were me, id blackout those hoop steps as well.

Have the hood and side panels vinyl wrapped. More durable than paint and removable. IMHO.

I'm with Goose and Tapatio. Go removable, first at least.

Here's a peek at a black hood and lower valance. It wasn't as matte as I wanted at the time. I went back to white recently.

How about saving money and go to the junkyard for a different color hood?
