I would definitely not recommend going with the coil spacer setup. I tried that in my 98 extended 2wd 3500 and was very unhappy with the results. The ride becomes extremely stiff in the front end, and the new geometry causes issues with the upper control arm constantly coming into contact with the frame at full extension. The shop that installed the kit (a very reputable one) had a really tough time even getting them to go in. The blocks themselves are fine, but the stock rear springs on a 3500 are bone-jarringly stiff to begin with, as I'm sure you're aware.

That is what I was thinking too, that is why I was curious about alternative spindles. I think weld tec makes a great product but for my use his stuff is way way overkill for me. As far as spindles go anyway, to me a lift spacer is a lift spacer no matter whos name is on the box. I can't seen one aluminum spacer being far superior to another if they are both made of the same grade material.

I have a 2wd 2002 Express cargo van and had Weldtec install the 2 inch spacers on the front coil springs in February 2019 along with Fox shocks in the front. Weldtec referred me to an alignment shop near his location that was familiar with his modifications. The alignment shop did have to modify the factory setup a little to work. The on street ride is actually better than the original setup which I think is because of the Fox shocks.



I installed overload springs in the rear to help with towing and had a Positraction unit installed in the rear end.



Weldtec is the only place that I found that installs these spacers on 2002 and older Express vans. There are many other places that can install spacers on 2003 and newer models.


I tow a 22 foot travel trailer and do some light off road treks with this van.
