Can you post part numbers which would be helpful.

Re: Converting the Flourescents to LED
This is what I used.

Yep I forgot to add to the post.
anyway it is now dark and they work great. with one on it lights up pretty good and with both its perfect. Might be thinking the cool white with the fixture lense might work even better. I will be checking the back fixture and this one once the top is up to see how each compare.

How's the amount of light compare before and after?
I've looked for LED replacements (tube based) for fluorescents, and there aren't many options for the 15" tube size (actually, maybe just the one that Angel found), so this looks like another option.

Re: Converting the Flourescents to LED
ok one strip is nice at night and you can see pretty good. With the second one on its bright enough to read by while setting on the couch with the top up.

Re: Converting the Flourescents to LED
This is a great project. I've replaced the reading lights with LEDs. I'll now tackle the flourescents. Where did you get the new high low switch?

Re: Converting the Flourescents to LED
local auto parts store.
main switch controls the power coming in and the high / low just turns off the second set.

Re: Converting the Flourescents to LED
Long shot question.
For anyone who has taken their Thin Lite fluorescent fixture apart, did you happen to notice the manufacturer of the switch? I'm hoping to find a direct fit SPDT replacement when I convert to LEDs and do a little rewiring, rather that adding a secondary switch.

Re: Converting the Flourescents to LED
did not notice when I had it apart.
I was trying to think of a a way to use a 1 3 pos switch for the on off high/low. But this was easier and simpler.
