Re: Do you have gas?

I have a propane kit for my Honda 2000 gen.

Google 'generator propane kit' and you will find multiple kits available.

Re: Do you have gas?

Wondering if it'll still do 2000w. I have a trifuel gen at my house piped permanently on natural gas. The manual says I'm losing about 15% wattage capability if on propane or NG as compared to gasoline. I understand that the gen output is what it is, but the change comes from the load the engine can handle on a specific fuel. Have you loaded it capacity-wise and noticed any variation?

Re: Do you have gas?

My kit mentioned a loss of power, but I don't remember how much.

Re: Do you have gas?

Hey Zeta,

I actually did find an online site that sells already modified Yamaha generators that run on propane, gas, or natural gas (for guys like me who if I tried to install it myself would promptly explode.)

Question - what did you have to do to the van's propane tank to make the connection there?

Sorry, been having too much fun with oil and egr coolers, tow trucks, etc..

I just used a 1/4" npt tee between the main valve and regulator. The center output of the tee goes into one of these: http://www.propanewarehouse.com/acmefit ... sp?ID=3031 to feed whatever you want to run on LP.

Care to define "used"? Is this a method that doesn't require emptying the tank (e.g. no purging later)?

Re: Do you have gas?

No. Just shut off the valve. You can see the installation here:
