Any updates? Find anything rattling around the intake?

So far so good! I pulled it apart and found no trace of anything in the engine. Intake manifolds / heads clear no sighs of any nicks on the turbine side of the turbo.

The only thing I found was a small piece of chewed up metal in the rubber intake bellows up near the filter box.

Current “guess” is that piece chewed up the compressor wheel and somehow flew back up the intake bellows? I had a diesel tech run through what I did and came up with the same outcome.

Currently waiting on some new seals and such to arrive. After that I will fire it up and do some more testing.

Looking good so far!

Ah, good....could the chewed up piece of metal be one of the clips from the air box? Missing one?
Are you throwing in a wicked wheel?

That was my thought as well. The old cracked box did have a missing clip.

I did rebuild the turbo using a wicked wheel 2 and exhaust back pressure valve delete.

Today I get to rebuild the fuel bowl and add the riff raff diesel cross over fuel system.

For bad news, this is as good as it gets! If you found all the clip bits, you should be fine, damage limited to the intake impeller.

When you are rebuilding the fuel bowl, there's a little cone shaped screen at the fuel inlet that you want to replace. Mine was almost plugged. Good luck
