E350 Tow Mirrors Exchange (2009 and up)

Just replace the stock E350 Mirrors to the Ford OEM power tow mirrors. Here's the write up. Hope this helps.

Here are the mirrors from Ebay. Bought them $149 for the pair. Ford Dealer wanted $395 each

Took off the panel behind the mirror. Only one clip.

There are 4 screws, one is located behind door latch panel.

Once the door panel is removed, the mirror's connection is located and clipped on the top left panel. Once unconnected, unbolt the mirrors (4 nuts)

I compared the connectors from both mirrors and I found out that the 2 outside wires were switched. I connected the tow mirrors and played with the controls, and it was totally the opposite direction where I wanted it to go!

I took the mirror out and reversed the wires....ALAS!, it goes where I wanted it to go

Re-connect and re-place everything and start on the other side. PM me if you have any Q's.

Project completed:
Time: Approx 1hr
Tools: Screwdriver (Phillips, small flat head), Socket wrench (11mm, 7mm), Electrical Tape, Wire strippers/ crimper, and wire connectors.

I ordered a pair too. The buyer sez they good for 2003 and up. I'm 2008 so let's hope everything goes equally smooth. Thx for write-up.

I'm assuming most of the power mirrors out there are OEM's, thats why they're so expensive. I lucked out on a private seller that took it off his 09. But I could be wrong. Good luck.

Re: E350 Tow Mirrors Exchange (2009 and up)

I got mine from a van upfitter (converts Ford vans to ambulances). Brand new, but they seller packaged them REALLY poorly, and one got damaged the first time, and the second one fared slightly better but I kept it. I think the guy took whatever scrap packing material he had laying around, threw it and the mirrors in a box, and wished for the best.

All said however, I love the tow mirrors.

Re: E350 Tow Mirrors Exchange (2009 and up)

Just got my "new" tow mirrors in the mail from ebay. Unfortunately, the one that was packed on the bottom got shattered.

Hopefully the seller will come through. Otherwise my deal at $155 (shipping included), may go south fast...

I've got plenty of stock glass you can have for just the shipping. Which Side? Fun to mount though.

Paul,

Thanks for the offer! The eBay seller says he's going to send another driver side mirror out. So, hopefully I won't need to take you up on that.

Re: E350 Tow Mirrors Exchange (2009 and up)

Then you can send the broken mirror to Paul and he can fix, sell it to a forum member for cheap!
