Electric fan

Anyone ever do an electric fan mod? Is it worth it. My AC sucks at idle and I figured this could help. Any thoughts?

Well my Starcool pancake fan on the radiator lost the ground wire and I noticed a huge difference when I got it back going especially at idle on hot days. I'm guessing you've checked the A/C level good. Also my pickups A/C snapped alive when I replaced the radiator. I also added WatterWetter to the system. The radiator was fairly plugged so I don't know if the additive worked but running temps dropped by about 20 degrees.

An auxiliary electric fan will help, especially for a/c performance at idle. Enough so that Ford builds an ambulance prep package with the “gulf coast upgrade” kit which is exactly that. An electric replacement fan however won’t move as much air as the mechanical fan, so it’s not recommended for v8 and v10 motors.

But before doing that.... is your fun clutch working? A/c system at specified pressure? No debris plugging the evaporator?

I had the fan clutch replaced in my 7.3L Excursion and it made a big difference.
