Re: "Eli Brackets" Update??

Well, obviously, I'm in for a set. Primer is fine with me ... then Plasti-Dip or van color with a rattle can.

I sure should have held onto the uninstalled set I had when I sold my SMB. I could either have sold them in a bidding war between all of you, or I could have sold the set to an aspiring vendor.

Re: "Eli Brackets" Update??

I removed my awning and Eli brackets today. They've been on the van for 18 months, and have seen some serious off-roading. There is absolutely no damage to the van. These are definitely the way to go for Fiamma awnings.

I took the brackets to RockSlide Engineering today to have them recreated to my specs. The kit will include THREE brackets for extra durability, will be powder coated black, will include hardware and may even be Plasti-Dipped to protect the side of the van. I dipped my original Eli brackets and it worked well, though the sun has been hard on it.

RSE will use their new laser cutting machine:

and their new CNC brake machine:

to make our new awning mounts for us. They also do powder coating in house.

Re: "Eli Brackets" Update??

Wow ... talk about getting the job done! I like the idea of 3 to a set. I have the high windows in the back so may have to shift the brackets around a bit. Thank you for your work on this. When you need $$ and addresses please let us know.

How are you sizing the 3rd (middle) bracket? I used a sliding plate s.t. it could be adjusted along the top curve (the van roof curves, the awning is arrow straight).

All in all, good to hear!
