I hope that means there will be more clearance for the PH!
How are you sizing the 3rd (middle) bracket? I used a sliding plate s.t. it could be adjusted along the top curve (the van roof curves, the awning is arrow straight).
All in all, good to hear!

My PH just clears--I'm careful to guide it by the awning when I pull it down.
Thanks for my shiny new "Hobbyist Vendor" tag!

Re: "Eli Brackets" Update??
Tom,
I modified my Eli's Brackets by reducing the setback by 1/2". This was accomplished by cutting the kickback in half, overlapping the two pieces and welding them back together. See the thread:

"Eli Brackets" Update??
Good news. I'll let Oregon Welding know tomorrow that they need not continue.

"Eli Brackets" Update??
On the awning topic I have one of the big fiamma f45 awnings that I would like to exchange for the smaller size. Does anyone have the small one and want to upsize? Black is preferred. Mine is white.

I had to destroy mine bending them to get them to clear- a lot of people had similar problems with the original design.

Re: "Eli Brackets" Update??
I would love to add a third mount to my setup. Will be following your progress. Thanks for taking the initiative.

Mine came from the last run Eli did. I actually bent them back towards the PH because the awning wasn't perfectly vertical. I'm planning on copying my angles exactly.
Maybe I shouldn't have them powder coated and Plasti-Dipped in case people need to modify them for variations in SMBs. What say?

Re: "Eli Brackets" Update??
Mine are a pain when lowering the pop top. They stick in way too far towards the side of the PH. To lower it I have to pull the PH over to the opposite side, away from the brackets, lower it below the top of the brackets, then try to push it the other way, onto the gutters, before it comes slamming down. Usually takes more than 1 try and if the van is at a bit of an angle can be impossible alone.
I will cut and re-weld mine one of these days. So, no I would not get them coated or dipped as I think the problem is fairly common.

Re: "Eli Brackets" Update??
Please keep me posted with progress as well. If we don't have to drill the van and they are compatible with the Thule/dewalt awnings, I will take 2 sets. Thanks in advance!!

I'll have to shorten the rear mount(s) because my windows are larger.
