Every now and then......

I see a truly ingenious product that might benefit a lot of others. So far I've ordered two of these. Very cheap.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1

I've included a link to Hodakaguy's write up on it on his Sprinter build thread.

It looks good.
It ratchets.
It keeps your roll of paper towels from doing that runaway trick they do sometimes on a bumpy road and you find the entire roll unrolled on the floor.

If you know what I'm talking about.........

Thanks! I've needed one for my trailer and have been too lazy to search.

Use Viva paper towels. They don’t unroll.

Ha! Thanks for the laugh, and glad my Amazon addiction has helped someone but I've gotta give credit where it's due. Hodakaguy found this. Check out his build(s). Amazing stuff!

For under $20 well worth it. Over time I figured out that if you pull across the roll you get the one or two sheets. I also learned the hard way, a run away roll can be dangerous. Here is why: I know ...stupid. I lite a candle for a stinky maiden season outting in the RV. I placed the candle in the sink drain (fit perfectly). The roll was easily 2-3 feet above the sink. While driving to the beach the roll unwound, the sheets in the sink caught fire. I smelled smoke and thought it was a shoulder fire that was coincidentally being extinguished by a fire crew across the freeway. Luckily I turned and saw it. I pulled over and I had a big gulp cup of water I was drinking. No damage but I had vision of a Hot Wheels RV with flames painted on the side and could only laugh!

Ouch, that could've been bad.

We used to put a travel pillow in our microwave during travel to keep ithe tray from rattling. The travel pillow had a metal zipper. One day one of the kids leaned on the microwave and turned it on somehow. Reacting quickly and getting a ball of flaming fleece out of the microwave and then out of the van was something I'll never forget.

We've had one for a few years now and it works well.

I enjoyed the tales of the flame fighting. It makes me feel not quite as dumb about my own bad candle placement.

A shout out to 86Scotty for posting about this. I bought two, one for the van and one for the house. Not until reading Scotty's post did I realize how much this issue was oppressing me. Mrs Shuttlepilot approved the first time she pulled off a sheet one handed. I feel a little nostalgic tossing the Velcro strap that has held our towel roll in place for the last 13 years, nope, it's outta here.
